Five Pintxos, Five Glasses, No Strangers Attached

Three hours of bar hopping in the Old Town, and the operator is unusually blunt about what private means here: they do not add other travellers to your booking, ever. It is your group and a guide. Five pintxos and five drinks per person, and the drinks are your choice: local wine, beer or soft drinks. What you eat is chosen by the guide from what each bar does best, which in a town where every counter is loaded is the whole value of having one. Between the bars you get the gastronomic culture rather than a list of monuments: how the pintxo economy actually works, why people move on after one drink instead of settling in, what the etiquette is at a crowded counter, and which places locals use at which hour. You meet at the city hall entrance, in front of the tobacco shop, and finish there. Guided in English or Spanish, sometimes both. Children must be accompanied by an adult; the minimum drinking age is eighteen. Hotel pick-up is available as a booking option.
