Shop the Market, Then Cook in Someone's Kitchen, Hoi An

Five hours, and the last of them are spent in someone's house. That is the difference here. Most Hoi An classes cook in a restaurant, a farm or a purpose-built kitchen with fifteen identical stations. This one goes to a local home, and a home kitchen has one stove, the pans that family owns, and no space to hide at the back. Before that: a basket boat through the water palms, and the market, where you buy the ingredients for what you are about to make rather than finding them portioned out. You eat what you cook, lunch or dinner depending on the departure, and take a recipe book away. Up to fifteen people, in English, with hotel pick-up and drop-off in Hoi An, the guide and all the ingredients. Drinks are extra: beer, juice and soft drinks. Vegetarian is available if you say so when booking. Not recommended if you have a heart condition.
