Five Dishes and a Drink Beside the Hanoi Train Track
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
HanoiThree hours, five dishes, and a drink sitting a metre from a working railway line. The food comes first: what people in Hanoi actually eat on an ordinary day, chosen by the guide rather than picked off a fixed list, at the places locals use. The route avoids the main tourist streets in favour of quieter neighbourhood ones, with the street art that most visitors never find. Then transport to the train street, where houses were built up against the track and cafés put stools out beside the rails. You get a drink and you wait, and if the timing works, a train comes through and everybody moves their chair. That last part depends on the schedule and on luck. Up to fifteen people, in English. The drink at the train street is included, along with the transport there. Children need an adult with them, and one person is enough for the tour to run. Pickup and drop-off at your hotel are not included.
