Private Hanoi Food Walk: Ten Dishes and the Original Egg Coffee
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
HanoiHanoi eats constantly and eats well, and the people who live here are fussy about it because they have hundreds of options. A day in this city, taken properly, is organised around meals. This is the private version: your own guide, your own group, and a start time that can move if you ask. Three hours in the Old Quarter, at the food stands and family restaurants a local would choose, with ten dishes across the walk. The menu rotates day to day. Rice noodle soup with beef, chicken or grilled pork. Snails, or dry noodles. Sticky rice. Doughnuts, steamed pancakes, Vietnamese sandwiches. Bun cha and green papaya salad are on the rotation too. Between the food, the walk takes in Hoan Kiem Lake, Dong Xuan Market, St Joseph's Cathedral and Ta Hien Street, with the guide covering the history and the daily life of a town a thousand years old. The last stop is the original egg coffee café, for the drink Hanoi is best known for. Up to ten people, in English, with bottled water and a beer or soft drink included. Pickup from Old Quarter hotels; there is no drop-off. Vegetarian, vegan, kosher and gluten-free versions with notice. Alcohol is served to over-twenty-ones only.
