Seventeen Artisan Piscos, in Jose Antonio and Mariale's Home

You are in somebody's house. Jose Antonio and Maria Alejandra teach the class themselves, in their own kitchen, and ten years ago they left their jobs to start a pisco company and this experience, which explains both halves of the afternoon. The cooking is tuna tartare, classic ceviche, and a pisco sour, with the fish bought that same morning. Eight people at most, so it stays a conversation. The pisco is the part nobody else offers. They distil it themselves, and there are seventeen artisan flavours to taste, which is enough to discover that pisco is a category rather than a drink. Dessert is a surprise, and there is a Peruvian gift to take away. Afterwards they send you the photographs, an edited video of the session, the recipes and their own recommendations for the rest of Lima. And if you want, they will drop you at Huaca Pucllana or the Bosque El Olivar, free, so the afternoon carries on. Two and a half hours, in English or Spanish, with unlimited water and an exotic fruit tasting. Vegetarian and gluten-free options, and they will work around allergies, if you tell them in advance. Wheelchair accessible throughout, service animals allowed, prams fine.
