The Cart Is Yours, and So Is the Route

The private version: an electric cart with your group in it and nobody else, a guide who drives, and three hours after dark. What being private changes is the pace. If you want ten minutes at a viewpoint you get ten minutes. If you would rather skip something, you skip it. You meet in front of the Palazzo Naiadi on Piazza della Repubblica. The route covers what a walking tour cannot: the Colosseum lit from outside, the Circus Maximus, the Palatine and Aventine, the panoramic viewpoints, Piazza Venezia, the Jewish Ghetto walled in 1555, the Mouth of Truth, Piazza Navona with Bernini's fountain, the Pantheon, the Trevi, the Spanish Steps seen from the top rather than the bottom, and Castel Sant'Angelo, which was Hadrian's tomb before it was a fortress and a papal refuge. Prosecco is open on board, and there are two stops for artisanal beer, wine and classic aperitivo snacks. Guided in German, English, Italian, French or Spanish. Travellers must be of legal drinking age in Italy; children can be added as adults on the booking, but the tour is designed for grown-ups. Dress warmly in winter, since the cart is open.
