Tuk Tuk to the Market, Then a Live Peruvian Party
Three hours in Magdalena del Mar rather than Miraflores, which already puts you somewhere most visitors do not go. The chef is certified by Le Cordon Bleu, and the market run is done by tuk tuk, which is not a novelty in this part of Lima but simply how people get about, and is a good deal more entertaining than a van. Three dishes, and they are the three: ceviche, causa, and lomo saltado, the sauteed beef that came out of Chinese kitchens and became the country's most-cooked dinner. Plus the pisco sour. Then the ending, which nobody else does: live Peruvian music, and a party. Eight people at most, with a bilingual instructor in English and Spanish, a pisco sour and a bottle of water each, and everything you cooked. Extra drinks and soft drinks are not included. Tell them about allergies and they will change the ingredients.
