Athens Food Tasting Tour: 7 Stops, Breakfast and the Market
Four hours across the centre, built to cover the whole Greek day rather than one meal: breakfast, the things eaten between meals, lunch and what follows it. Seven tasting stops, and most of them put more than one thing in front of you. Greek pies to begin. Then cheese and cold cuts, olives, koulouri, a meze spread, loukoumades and a coffee at the end. The route also takes in the Central Market, where the fish, the meat and the produce of the city change hands. Sunday departures skip it, because it is closed. The tour is guided in German, English, French or Spanish, with a maximum of twelve people, and the whole route is wheelchair accessible, surfaces included. Departures leave Monastiraki Square, in front of the church, at 9.30 or 13.45. On Sundays and on public holidays the start moves to the Acropolis metro station, upstairs by the escalator, and you should arrive fifteen minutes early on those days.
