Drive a Vintage Fiat 500 Through Chianti, with a Wine Stop
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
FlorenceYou are not a passenger on this one. You get a vintage Fiat 500 and you drive it, in convoy behind the guide's car, out of Scandicci and into the Tuscan hills. The route runs on the small roads: cypress avenues, historic villas, vineyards and olive groves, the landscape Tuscany puts on its postcards, seen from a car with the windows down and no power steering. There is a wine tasting along the way and a light lunch. Four hours or more. Up to nine people, in English, minimum two per booking. The requirement that catches people out is the gearbox. These cars are manual, and the operator is explicit: you need to drive a manual confidently, and the guide can stop anyone from driving at any point if they cannot handle the car safely. Bring your licence, and you must be eighteen to drive. Children of twelve and under travel free with valid ID. If you take the wine tasting, whoever is driving should spit rather than swallow, which is normal practice at a tasting and nobody will think anything of it. Vegetarian and vegan lunches with notice.
