Florence Pasta and Tiramisu Class in a Local Restaurant
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
FlorenceThe class runs inside a working restaurant rather than a school, which changes the atmosphere: the kitchen is somebody's kitchen and the host cooks in it every day. Two things get made. Fresh pasta, by hand, the way it is done here rather than the way recipe books describe. And tiramisù, which has a small number of techniques behind it that separate a good one from a wet one, and which the host gives away. Then everyone sits down and eats what they made, with wine, limoncello and coffee. There is time to ask questions about Italian cooking, which is half the reason to book something like this. Three hours, up to fifteen people, in English, and the venue is wheelchair accessible. Check the address before you set out, because the venue changes with the start time and the operator lists it against each slot. When the class ends you can stay on with the group or walk out into the Santo Spirito streets nearby. Not suitable for vegans, or for anyone with an egg allergy, lactose intolerance, gluten intolerance or a life-threatening allergy: the kitchen is shared and cross-contamination cannot be excluded. Gluten-free and vegan food can be supplied, but the instruction does not cover it.
