Mahanakorn Cooking Class by Wat Paknam: Four Thai Courses

The studio is in Phasi Charoen, two minutes' walk from Wat Paknam, in a part of Bangkok where nobody is selling anything to tourists. That is the reason to come out here rather than take a class in the centre. Four courses, and everyone cooks their own: no shared pans, no demonstration at the front. The host teaches Thai home recipes and takes it slowly enough that a beginner keeps up, then everyone eats what they made together. Afterwards there is the option of walking over to see the Giant Buddha at Wat Paknam, a few minutes away. Three and a half hours, eight people at most, in English. Fresh ingredients, bottled water and all the equipment are included, along with a PDF recipe booklet and photographs of the class. Vegetarian menus and other dietary needs can be arranged. Alcohol is not included and is served only to over-twenties. The studio is not wheelchair accessible.
