Margarita's Garden in San Angel, Four People Only

Four people at most, and the whole thing is private, which at that size means it stops resembling a class at all. Margarita hosts it in her own house in San Angel, a residential neighbourhood a long way from anywhere with a tour bus, and the meal is eaten in her garden. The market comes first: the Mercado Melchor Muzquiz, which is where she shops, and the introduction to the ingredients Mexican cooking is built on. Then her kitchen, and two or three traditional dishes from her family's recipes, made together rather than watched. Four hours, in English or Spanish, with the market tour, the class, lunch or dinner, alcohol, coffee or tea. Gratuities are included, which is unusual and worth noting.
