Siena, Monteriggioni and San Gimignano by Minibus with Lunch
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
FlorenceThe premium version of the Tuscany day trip: a minibus instead of a coach, a licensed guide instead of a tour leader, and a group small enough that questions get answered. Siena first. A guided walk through the highlights, Piazza del Campo and the cathedral among them, then free time. The cathedral interior can be added for fifteen euros paid to the guide on the day, though not on Sundays or during services. Monteriggioni comes next, the walled hill village, its circuit of towers still complete. Lunch is at a wine estate near Colle di Val d'Elsa. A look round the property and the old cellars, then a light meal of seasonal Tuscan food paired with the estate's red wines. San Gimignano closes the day, with free time to walk the main street, look into the Collegiata and have a gelato under the towers. Ten hours, back in Florence around six. Up to fifteen people, in English, in an air-conditioned minibus with wifi, and luggage can stay on board. Vegetarian and gluten-free lunches with notice. It is a shared tour and keeps a group pace, so anyone with limited mobility is better served by a private one.
