Asok Market Thai Cooking Class: Four Dishes at House of Taste

House of Taste teaches four Thai dishes in an air-conditioned kitchen in Sukhumvit 4, and the class is built for people who want to cook rather than watch. Morning departures start at Asok market, where the guide goes through the exotic end of a Thai shopping list, the vegetables, herbs and spices that a European kitchen never sees, and you handle them before you use them. Afternoon and evening classes take a mango carving session in place of the market visit. Then the cooking. Four dishes, each one eaten while it is still hot rather than plated up and left waiting. Three and a half hours, up to twelve people, in Thai or English. Water is provided, hot and cold, and there is a locker for your things. You leave with the recipes. Alcohol can be bought on site but is not included, and there is no hotel transfer. Vegetarian menus and other dietary requirements need to be flagged at booking.
