Private Or Tor Kor Market Food Tour with Six Tastings
Two hours, private, and designed as the first thing you do in Bangkok rather than the last: the point is to work out what everything is called and what you like, so the rest of the trip is easier. It centres on Or Tor Kor, ranked among the best fresh markets in the world. Produce, meat, seafood, curries and ready-cooked dishes, along with the food court and the aisles where cooks buy their ingredients. Six tastings across the walk. Thai red curry and papaya salad near the Chatuchak flower market. Mu ping, grilled pork on a skewer, and pad thai over by the weekend market. Sweet sticky rice cooked in coconut milk around Chatuchak Park, with a fruit to go with it: coconut, guava, watermelon, papaya, mango, pineapple, longan, lychee, whatever is on the stall. If you want to sit down at the end, the guide can take you to a coffee place nearby. Up to eight people, and only your own party. It runs in Thai or English, and Mandarin can be arranged. Vegetarian alternatives are available, and you can ask the guide to change the route at the start or by message beforehand.
