Thirty Years of Riad Kitchens, Taught by Laila
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
MarrakechLaila's introduction to her own class is two sentences long, and the numbers in it are the reason to book. Thirty years cooking for guest houses and hotels in Marrakech. Twelve of them teaching visitors. That is a career in riad kitchens, which is a specific and demanding kind of cooking: small, seasonal, and expected to be perfect for people who have paid for perfect. Four hours, hands on. The meeting point is by the Bahia Palace, off Riad Zitoun el Jdid, which is one of the more navigable corners of the Medina and a good place to be afterwards. Up to fifteen people, in English, French or Arabic, with water and tea or coffee. Prams are fine and infant seats are available.
