Thissio Cooking Class in Athens: Greek Family Recipes and Dinner
Apostolou Pavlou runs from Thissio metro station towards the Acropolis, and the class takes place in a restaurant on it, with the rock in view from the tables. The instructor cooks the way Greek families cook, which is not the same as the way restaurants do, and the class follows along. What comes out is a full dinner: starters, a main course and a dessert, and then everyone sits down to eat it together with a glass of wine, a beer or a soft drink. You take the recipes home in print. Four hours, in English, with the class capped at eighteen. Bookings take up to nine people, so most groups are made up of several parties. Vegetarian menus need to be requested when you book, as do other dietary requirements. Children of nine and under are not recommended, and any child who comes needs an adult with them.
